Note: This Lithionics Battery lithium-ion battery now uses
the smaller F2707 aluminum battery case which measures 26.72"
long x 6.72" wide x 10.1" tall - add extra space
for the DIN cables.
This
extremely versatile battery can be used for a wide variety
of applications including Deep Cycle House Power for RV
and Marine applications as well as hybrid-electric marine
propulsion and as a diesel engine cranking battery for Marine
Engine Starting on sailboats and yachts. We can wire up
2 or more of these batteries in series or parallel to power
electric marine motors with Voltages equal to or higher
than 51.2 Volts - including the 144 Volt Elco 100hp EP100
electric marine motors.

This
battery is a dual-use battery: Deep Cycle Battery House
Power or as a Primary Engine Starting Battery or Main Vehicle
Battery. Lithionics lithium-ion batteries are the ideal
solution for Solar Power Harvesting and Off-Grid Electrical
Energy Storage as they harvest more energy than lead type
batteries.

an "Engineered Solution"
Here at Pinnacle Innovations/ getlithium.com and Lithionics
Battery we like to think that we do things differently -
the Lithionics Batteries are certainly built to a far higher
standard than other lithium-ion batteries on the market.
Our Sales Approach is also quite different - we offer what
we call "Engineered Solutions" where we take the
time to understand your needs and all of the particulars
of your project so tht we can correctly specify the right
product for you to get you all of the performance that we
say you will get. As a part of this process we do need to
submit a "New Project Information Sheet" for all
new projects. If you are able to download the following
two documents and submit them by email to us at siteinfo@shaw.ca
that will be very helpful. Of course Pinnacle Innovations/
getlithium.com will be happy to complete and submit these
to Lithionics once we have had a few discussions and assessed
your project.
Alternator
Charging:
The long-term effects of constant charging from "unregulated/
controlled alternators" are indicating possible degradation
of lithium-ion batteries. As such, we only recommend directly
connecting a Lithionics battery system to a high quality
alternator that connects to either a Wakespeed or Balmar
branded external Voltage Regulator that can offer proper
3 stage charging AND the Lithionics BMS option "FCC"
can turn off the alternator when the lithium battery is
full. For alternators that are "shared" and need
to charge a lead-acid/ AGM start battery as well as the
Lithionics battery we recommend using a high quality DC
to DC Battery Charger like those made by Sterling Power
(ignition enabled option) that will connect to your start
battery and feed the Lithionics Battery. Please consult
Pinnacle Innovations and we will be happy to specify how
best to achieve alternator charging and we can also supply
any parts needed - such as DC to DC Battery Chargers, Wakespeed
or Balmar branded external Voltage Regulators and high efficiency
battery isolators by Perfect

Theory
of Operation:
The heater kit is a convecting type heating system
internal the battery or module that applies and
average of 30 Watts per hour (at -4F/-20C continuous
ambient temperatures) and is controlled by a thermostat.
The thermostat maintains the lithium cell/core to
a temperature between 35 and 40 degrees fahrenheit.
This permits sub-freezing charging operations.

EXTREME CONDITIONS: We also sell a product called
"Dynaliner" that is an external
thermal protective wrap with a very high K Value of 0.3.
This "Dynaliner" material is from
0.125" to 0.5" thick and non-conductive.
This option is recommended for extreme temperature situations.

SYSTEM NOTES AND FREQUENCY OF CHARGING:
A.) The "Pushbutton NeverDie System" has a
continuous Amperage draw of 2 Milliamps.
B.) Some of our Lithionics Battery lithium-ion batteries
can be ordered with either "Pushbutton NeverDie
System" (A) which is the BMS built into the battery
or can be ordered with the "External BMS box Pushbutton
NeverDie System" (B). As such, our smaller batteries
will likely need some recharging every 2-4 months to
compensate for the small amperage draw (.002 Amp) of
the NeverDie System. Please be sure to ask about this
at time of ordering or check the Lithionics Storage
Procedure Guidelines.
If your application also has a small "Parasitic
Drain" (clock, alarm system etc.), this must also
be factored in and the battery charged in accordance
with the total amperage draw.
Lithionics
Battery lithium-ion batteries are 97% EFFICIENT FOR SOLAR
POWER. Compare that with only 55% to 85% efficiency
for other types of batteries including deep-cycle lead acid
batteries. Lithionics Battery lithium-ion batteries also

You
may ask "What is NEVERDIE or BMS?"
The Lithionics NeverDie is
the name for our Battery Management System (BMS) which is
essentially the brains of a lithium-ion battery system. This
is an option that can be ordered with ALL of our batteries.
The BMS performs numerous safety functions to help protect
the battery and your system and is also very useful for reporting
information to the user.
On
the battery discharge side of things the BMs is in part a
Low Voltage Cutoff (LVC) circuitry built into the battery
that will allow you to use the electricity in your deep cycle
lithium-ion battery and the battery will automatically enter
"sleep mode" once the battery is drawn down to typically
90% discharged. This means you can use approximately 90% of
the energy in the battery before it enters "sleep mode"
to prevent further discharging. This helps to prevent accidental
overdischarging and the battery can be put back in use by
pressing the round switch - at which time you should also
begin recharging.
In
addition, the NeverDie BMS also acts as a protection system
when charging the battery to help eliminate over-charging
and acts to protect against excessive charging Voltage. Its
important to always follow Lithionics' charging instructions
and use compatible charging equipment. Lithionics BMS has
several advanced communication options that work with their
party lithium battery charging equipment to help ensure safe
and optimal charging. Find

The
NEVERDIE BMS is available as built-in option on several
of the 12 Volt batteries and has a simple button will
be located on the top of your battery to manually shut down
the battery for storage or to "wake up" the battery
from sleep mode.
The
NEVERDIE BMS is also available as as an external BMS box
that connects to a Lithionics Battery module. This is actually
a more robust system and one that we require for all marine
projects. This connects to the battery and in real time is constantly
performing all of the checks needed to protect the battery from
both charging and discharging errors.
